What are the CUTx Numbers and why are they so important?<\/span><\/h2>\n

The CUTx Numbers provide a clear definition of how close we are to the planetary boundaries of 1.5\u00b0C and 2\u00b0C heating.<\/span><\/p>\n

You cannot see the elevated numbers for 1.5\u00b0C and think that there is any realistic chance of humanity staying close to that level of climate change.<\/span><\/p>\n

The numbers for 2\u00b0C demonstrate how urgently the Global North must cut its emissions. This responsibility is amplified by the fact that it is the Global South that will suffer the first and the hardest from the destabilization of the atmosphere.<\/span><\/p>\n

Without the clarity of this scientific frame, it is very easy for schools and the media to get lost in half-truths and misinformation. These authoritative numbers frame the Climate Academy programme and all its projects.<\/span><\/p>\n
